About Us

Sara

I’m Sara, a passionate flower farmer and the heart behind The Flower Meadow. On my small, sustainable flower farm in West Wales, I grow a variety of seasonal flowers, from vibrant sunflowers to delicate dahlias, all nurtured by hand and with a love for the earth.

For me, flower farming is more than just growing beautiful blooms – it’s about connecting people to the natural world. Each season brings new colours, textures, and fragrances, and I feel so lucky to share that magic with my community.

When I’m not in the field, you’ll find me creating beautiful bouquets or soaking up the early morning sunshine with a cuppa with the donkeys. Let’s bring a little more beauty into the world, one flower at a time.

Ellie

Ellie joined The Flower Meadow in April 2024, she brings a wealth of knowledge and practical experience, having worked in horticulture since the age of 18 (a very long time ago)! She has been incredibly lucky to have worked in a variety of horticultural jobs, everything from a Mature Tree Nursey, RHS garden and a Botanic Garden in New Zealand.

She loves weird and wonderful plants; she has particular passion for shade loving tender plants and the slightly more gruesome carnivorous. Although, she has a soft spot for sweet peas as they are the very first plants she grew as a child with her father. When she grows up, she wants to be a plant hunter and trek jungles to become the Indiana Jones of the plant world.

Rich

I’m Rich, Sara’s husband. As a Royal Navy veteran and engineer, flower farming couldn’t be more out of my comfort zone, but I absolutely love it and am learning all the time. As well as helping Sara and Ellie where I can with the flowers, I maintain most of the infrastructure on the farm, make some local deliveries, look after the accounts and occasionally drive the tractor!

As well as the flowers, we seem to have collected quite a few animals, which is how I spend the rest of my time on the farm. We have a small flock of sheep, 2 donkeys who provide plenty of manure for the flowers, chickens, geese, and ducks. Then there are our pet dogs and cats.
